Champagne Piaff sponsors The Interview

Launched in 2016, Champagne PIAFF is the result of head winemaker Maxime Mansards’ desire to create modern and youthful wines using the expertise and knowledge passed down over five generations. The Mansard family have been Champagne producers since 1901, their chief winemaker at the time was Maximes’ grandfather, Bennoni Mansard.

Maxime sources fruit predominantly from 24 hectares of estate-owned vineyards with an additional 20% purchased from local growers in the Vallée de la Marne. The 70 small parcels are planted primarily on south facing clay and limestone plots in Cerseuil. Vines are on average 35-40 years old and managed as sustainably as possible with minimal spraying and zero weed management.

All the grapes are hand harvested, pressed, fermented at 18-20 degrees and aged in stainless steel for three to five years before secondary bottle fermentation. The Champagne is typically disgorged between six and 12 months depending on the cuvée, and known within the family as the secret ‘Mansard recipe’. All three cuvées; Brut, Brut Rosé and Blancs de Blanc have a final dosage for 7-7.5g/l for a fresh and lean style.
