Inspiring the next generation of sommeliers
Choosing a career as a sommelier is not always an obvious choice for those starting out in the world of work, or making a career change, especially in the UK.
However, joining a team of sommeliers at restaurants around the country can be very rewarding as it opens up the world of wine, unearths its passionate people and reveals the amazing vineyards of the world.
We’ve teamed up with one of the UK’s leading sommeliers Charles Carron Brown, Restaurant Manager & Sommelier at Aulis London to nurture a new generation of sommeliers in UK with the launch of FUTURE SOMMELIER 2026.
“The hospitality industry has given me extraordinary opportunities over the years, so it feels only fitting that I give something back. Helping the next generation of sommeliers rise through the ranks and realise their full potential is something I take immense pride in – and something I want a personal hand in making happen. It is only through mentorship, and through inspiring others to reach the very top of their game, that we can keep this remarkable industry truly alive.”

The search is on for young staff members, those aged 18 and over, who are about to begin or have just begun working in hospitality, and would like the opportunity to discover more and begin their journey to learn about the opportunities in wine and drinks service.
The Future Sommelier initiative aims to inspire the next generation – whatever age they choose to join hospitality. An inclusive initiative set up to open doors to the world of drinks for new talent in the UK and create opportunities for hospitality to attract talented individuals. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are welcomed.
