Duties and responsibilities related to the Wine Lounge Supervisor role
- Oversee the storage and rotation of wine inventory, maintaining optimal conditions for aging and serving.
- Maintain knowledge of beverage inventory, including stocking and updating the ’86’ board.
- Provide personalized recommendations and guidance to guests on wine selection, ensuring an exceptional and memorable dining experience.
- Suggest and sell wine, wine tasting experiences, and non-wine products.
- Drive beverage sales on the floor by upselling, recommending, educating, and interacting with guests.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine wine pairings for seasonal menus and special events.
- Attend regular wine tastings and educational sessions to enhance your understanding of wine.
- Stay updated with industry trends and new wine releases to continuously improve the wine program.
About you
We are looking for a candidate who is adept at multitasking and flexible, able to perform the duties of both Lounge Supervisor and Sommelier. Previous experience in a similar role within a fine dining establishment or luxury hotel is highly desirable. Additionally, a WSET Level 2 or 3 certification is advantageous.
