We have an amazing opportunity for a Head Sommelier to join our team at TING restaurant. Our Head Sommelier will play a key role in Shangri-La, providing the finest personalised service by adhering to food and beverage brand standards and by engaging with our guests & creating memorable experiences for them. This role is vital to the business and the successful individual will need to have experience in a similar role or looking for their next step up.
As a head sommelier, you will be confident in leading, training and managing our team of 4 sommeliers. You will be passionate about what you do and confident in recommending and matching appropriate wines due to your excellent knowledge and previous experience. You will need to have experience organising and maintaining wine lists and cellars and have a strong understanding of how the business functions, from the financials to the day-to-day running. Most importantly you will be someone that thrives to provide our guests with the highest standards of service.
This role is perfect for someone who is looking for a role that is more flexible in the hospitality industry as we offer flexible working hours (5 x 8-hour shifts)
Who we’re looking for:
- Someone with significant experience within the wine industry
- At least WSET Level 3
- Experience in high-end luxury restaurants or hotels with exceptional high standards
- A strong leader, who likes to see their team excel through training and guidance
- Someone with a pleasant and welcoming manner,
- Confidence in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment
- A strong business acumen
- Experience working towards targets with an understanding of good financial profitability
- Up to £50,000 per annum Inclusive of base salary and average tronc
