Row on 5 by Jason Atherton is our flagship restaurant in Mayfair, awarded a Michelin Star within six weeks of opening its vibrant doors and an unprecedented 5 AA Rosettes within its first year. It takes over two floors of a new building on Savile Row. The concept is “a culinary voyage” involving a multi-course dining experience. On the ground floor, there’s a mix of counter dining and tables for 36 diners. Downstairs there’s an open kitchen and bar and room for 22 more diners, along with a private dining room – cellar – with eight seats. We’re on a mission to redefine the dining experience, and we invite highly talented and passionate individuals like yourself to join our Team and be a part of this exciting journey! Row on 5 is led by Executive Chef Spencer Metzger. Chef Spencer won the prestigious Roux Scholarship in 2019 and was named a Master of Culinary Arts by the UK’s Royal Academy of Culinary Arts in 2022.

About You:
We are recruiting for a highly talented and experienced Sommelier to join our Team. As a Sommelier, you would have an eye for detail and be knowledgeable on wine pairing and wine sales skills. As an individual you will be passionate about wines and be able to give detailed description on the old and new world wines. You will confidently share your knowledge to staff through training and ensure that you provide excellent and consistent service that is in line with our standards. You will go beyond and above the call of duty to ensure that every guest receives a lasting and memorable experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possessing thorough knowledge of wines and London’s restaurant industry
- Assisting the Senior Sommelier with the Wine List
- Contributing in educating and training the restaurant Team to enhance their wine knowledge
- Delivering all aspects of the guest experience according to our standards
- Assist with performing stock takes
- Collaborate with the culinary Team to create wine pairing menus
- Stay updated on industry trends and new wine release
- Guest Service: Take orders, provide recommendations, and offer excellent customer service, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for every guest
- Assist the Senior Sommelier Management Team with reviewing wine revenue, cost and latest wine trends, to devise well-informed adjustments to our wine sales and buying strategy
