An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a passionate Director of Wine to lead the wine programme at one of the best hotels in the World. You will work with a cellar comprising over 3000 different labels and over 40,000 bottled!

As Director of Wine, you will be responsible for:
- The wine programme and sommelier teams, overlooking service in all Food and Beverage outlets.
- Wines globally to align with Maybourne’s wine strategy.
- Support to Food and Beverage outlets for maximising sales and profit.
Successful candidates will have:
- Genuine passion and dedication to deliver the highest standards in all Food and Beverage outlets.
- Empathy and effective communication skills to work with diverse teams.
- Experience in hotel food and beverage operations, Michelin star, and all-day dining restaurants.
- Intuitive and exceptional service, focusing on guest needs and creating lasting memories.
- Motivation, creativity, and experience in a five-star or fine dining environment.
- Knowledge about food and quality products.
- Fluency in spoken and written English, a second language is desirable.
Other skills that will need to be demonstrated include:
- At least two years’ experience in a similar role (and at least 5 years’ experience in wine hospitality at similar level of prestige).
- To manage a sizeable wine team of up to 12 sommeliers in diverse Food and Beverage outlets.
- Dynamism to navigate the dynamic Food and Beverage settings at The Connaught Hotel.
- Interpersonal communication, and leadership skills.
- Wine knowledge for overseeing one of the largest wine collections in the UK and Europe.
