In 2026 Champagne Louis Roederer is celebrating 250 years since the foundation in 1776. Led today by 7th generation Frédéric Rouzaud, Louis Roederer remains one of the last 100% independent family-owned Champagne Houses.
From their same base in Reims, where Louis Roederer’s multi-vintage Collection, Vintage Cuvées and Cristal champagnes are produced, the House bears the name of the man who, in 1841, put into practice what was at the time an avant-garde vision: to acquire his own vineyards in order to control all the stages of wine production.
Louis Roederer bought vineyard plots in the finest terroirs in Champagne, in the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus of the Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. Over time the House has built up a significant vineyard holding of almost 250 hectares. It is the largest biodynamic Domaine in Champagne, with close to half of the Domaine vineyards certified organic. With the exception of Collection, all Louis Roederer Cuvées are 100% Domaine grown, making Louis Roederer more grower than House. Today the team is led by Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, Vice President and Cellar and Vineyard Manager, who continues to build on this heritage, constantly innovating in his pursuit of taste.
At the heart of Louis Roederer’s independence, across each generation, is one of the most precious legacies. The freedom to make one’s own choices; based on a wealth of savoir-faire, sensitivity, vision and uncompromising standards with which to foster the bounties of nature, hand in hand with an openness to creation, culture and emotion.

On behalf of Champagne Louis Roederer, we’re thrilled to be the Headline Sponsor of the inaugural Top 100 Sommeliers Australia.
Having spent many years working as a sommelier, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see the profession continue to evolve and thrive. Initiatives like this play an important role in recognising the dedication, passion and expertise that sommeliers bring to our industry every day.
We’re proud to support anything that champions the profession, celebrates excellence, and inspires the next generation of sommeliers to pursue the craft with the same curiosity, enthusiasm and commitment.”

On behalf of Champagne Louis Roederer, we at red+white are delighted to be the Headline Sponsor of the inaugural Top 100 Sommeliers Australia.
Having worked with Champagne Louis Roederer for over 3 decades, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with innumerable talented, passionate and committed Sommeliers across Australia. There has been an extraordinary evolution of this critical but once under-valued profession. A profession which adds so much value and pleasure to dining out. Initiatives such as Top 100 Sommeliers are a worthy and fitting reward for the hard work Sommeliers put in each and every day.
It is an honour to support any enterprise which nurtures and applauds this profession, and importantly provides an inspiration for the next cohort of Sommeliers so they too will look forward with the same air of enthusiasm, wonder and dedication.“
