Craggy Range is a family-owned winery nestled beneath the majestic Te Mata Peak in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.

Founded in 1998 by Terry and Mary Peabody, their vision was to create a world-class winery defined by its unique terroir and landscapes. To ensure the legacy continues for generations to come, the Peabody family established a 1,000-year trust – a testament to their commitment to long-term stewardship.

Driven by a philosophy of quality, innovation, and sustainability, Craggy Range produces iconic wines from its estate vineyards in Hawke’s Bay and Martinborough. These sites were carefully selected for their exceptional soils and distinct microclimates, producing wines of remarkable character and complexity. In 2022, Craggy Range became the first New Zealand winery to be represented on the prestigious La Place de Bordeaux, fulfilling the founders’ ambition to stand among the world’s finest wine estates.

Beyond the vineyard, Craggy Range offers an exceptional visitor experience. The award-winning restaurant, led by Executive Chef Casey McDonald, delivers seasonal Hawke’s Bay cuisine that celebrates local produce and showcases a garden-to-plate philosophy, with ingredients sourced from the onsite organic and biodynamic culinary garden. Guests can enjoy a variety of wine experiences at the Cellar Door, tasting new release wines and some from the iconic Prestige collection, along with guided site tours. The luxurious on-site accommodations allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the surrounding landscape and the spirit of Craggy Range.
