Sommelier Responsibilities
- Curate and manage our extensive wine list, ensuring a diverse selection that complements our menu and meets the expectations of our discerning clientele.
- Provide expert wine recommendations and pairings to enhance the dining experience of our guests.
- Conduct wine tastings and staff training sessions to ensure our team is well-versed in our offerings and can provide exceptional service.
- Oversee the ordering, receiving, and storage of wine inventory, maintaining optimal stock levels and ensuring the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create harmonious pairings and special wine events.
- Engage with guests, sharing your passion for wine and creating memorable experiences through personalised service.
- Stay current with industry trends, new wine releases, and emerging vineyards to continually refresh and refine our wine selection.
Sommelier Requirements:
- Certification as a Sommelier or equivalent experience.
- Extensive knowledge of wines, regions, and varietals, with a particular emphasis on European wines.
- Previous experience as a Sommelier in a luxury or fine dining establishment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests and staff.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
