From boundary\u2011pushing winemakers to ancient vineyards and cutting\u2011edge styles, Australia\u2019s wine story is more exciting than ever. Attend the upcoming trade tasting and you could be heading Down Under to experience it all first\u2011hand.<\/h5>\n

Australian wine is having a moment, and not a quiet one. Across the country, boundary\u2011pushing winemakers, evolving styles and a wave of emerging varieties are redefining what Australian wine can be. For sommeliers and buyers eager to stay ahead of the curve, Wine Australia is offering a rare chance to experience this dynamism first-hand.<\/p>\n

28 winemakers and winery owners will be pouring their wines at the event \u2013 check out the list here<\/a>. The list includes fifth generation custodian Guy Adams (Owner, Metala Wines) with the oldest family-owned Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the world in South Australia\u2019s Langhorne Creek and Murray McHenry (Owner, McHenry Hohnen Vintners) crafting fine wines in Margaret River using biodynamic practices and \u2018hands-off\u2019 winemaking.<\/p>\n

This January, the Australia and New Zealand Trade Tasting returns to London and Edinburgh, showcasing the breadth and excitement of the region\u2019s wines. And for six lucky attendees, the tasting could be the gateway to something even more extraordinary: a two\u2011week, all\u2011expenses\u2011paid trade trip to Australia<\/a> in early November 2026. Tasting booklets for both events are now available: London<\/a> and Edinburgh<\/a><\/p>\n

A Deep Dive into Australia\u2019s Wine Heartlands<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hosted by Emma Symington MW, the trip will span seven wine regions across three states, offering an immersive look at the people, places and philosophies shaping modern Australian wine. Expect vineyard walks, winery visits, behind\u2011the\u2011scenes tastings and conversations with the growers and makers driving innovation.<\/p>\n

From multi\u2011generation family estates to the new wave of disruptors rewriting the rulebook, the itinerary promises a comprehensive snapshot of Australia\u2019s wine culture, its heritage, its experimentation and its unmistakable sense of place.<\/p>\n

Those curious about what\u2019s in store can browse highlights from the 2024 tour on Emma\u2019s Instagram<\/a>. Last year\u2019s group inspected some of the oldest vines on the planet, drifted over Yarra Valley in a sunrise hot\u2011air balloon, cruised Sydney Harbour and even met some of the country\u2019s iconic wildlife. Martina Larnach, Head of Wine at Super 8 Restaurants, summed it up simply: it was \u201cthe best trip ever\u201d.<\/p>\n
