The wine has a reputation for being rather maverick, the Chilean blend broke new ground becoming something of a Chilean wine icon.<\/p>\n<p>The new white wine is a blend of Limar\u00ed Valley Chardonnay with Moscatel, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Semill\u00f3n and Viognier from various vintages (between 2017 and 2020): inspired by the great whites of Rioja. Long and gentle oxidative ageing give complexity to a floral, aromatic white wine &#8211; Caballo Loco Blanco No.1 is a wine that is made to match with food and work well on the wine list.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.valdiviesowines.com\/?lang=en\">Valdivieso<\/a> is also unveiling Caballo Loco N\u00b020. The 20<sup>th<\/sup> edition of a blended red which explores the amazing variety in Chilean terroirs. Made from Syrah coming from Limar\u00ed, Maipo Cabernet Sauvignon and Colchagua Carm\u00e9n\u00e8re the blend is popular.\u00a0 The Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec come from the Curic\u00f3 region and the Maule Valley provides the intense Mediterranean varieties; Carignan and Grenache.<\/p>\n<p>The way this wine is made stands out from what you would expect from Chile as each new release brings together 50% new vintage wines together with 50% of wines from the previous release. This is way of making wine that is inspired by the world-famous solera system or making wine. Early harvested Pinot Noir from the southern area of Mulchen add verticality and length and Viognier from Sagrada Familia with Pinot Gris from Casablanca adds layers of flavours and textural complexity. Finally, old vine Semillon from the Curico Valley completes the blend providing waxy overtones.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Caballo Loco was first released three decades ago, and since then, the Caballo Loco family has grown with the creation of single-vineyard wines to highlight the stand out characteristics from each individual regions. The Grands Crus from Apalta, Maipo, Limar\u00ed and Sagrada Familia in Curic\u00f3 are only produced in exceptional vintages.<\/p>\n<p><em>Caballo Loco Blanco is distributed in the on-trade and independent sector exclusively.
