{"id":2885,"date":"2023-08-30T14:38:34","date_gmt":"2023-08-30T13:38:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sommelieredit.com\/?p=2885"},"modified":"2023-09-08T10:28:50","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T09:28:50","slug":"frum-rum-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sommelieredit.com\/nz\/frum-rum-launch\/","title":{"rendered":"Fr\u2019um Marlow with love"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s9\">After <\/span><span class=\"s9\">mixing and muddling cocktails for over two decades, Anthony Peart, Bar Manager at The Hand &amp; Flowers, the two Michelin starred pub in Marlow from Tom <\/span><span class=\"s9\">Kerridge<\/span><span class=\"s9\">, has turned his hand to rum with the launch of <\/span><span class=\"s9\">Fr\u2019um<\/span><span class=\"s9\">.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Born in the leafy suburbs of Henley but inspired by the dark heady nights and sandy shores of Jamaica, Fr\u2019um, dark has tasting notes of rich muscovado, pineapple and smokey scotch bonnet.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by a lack of premium spiced rum offerings on the market that aren\u2019t overly sweet, Anthony embarked upon creating his own. Teaming up with neighbouring company The Henley Distillery, and using the nostalgic flavour notes of barbecue, scorched pineapple and a gentle kick of scotch bonnet from the days when he watched his grandfather cook on the beach, Fr\u2019um is a taste of the good life. The muscovado is used to extract the juice from ripe pineapples before the smoked scotch bonnet pepper is added and steeped, using a gentle heat.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2897\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2897\" style=\"width: 653px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2897 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sommelieredit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Anthony-Peart_Distillery.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"653\" height=\"871\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sommelieredit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Anthony-Peart_Distillery.jpg 653w, https:\/\/sommelieredit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Anthony-Peart_Distillery-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 653px) 100vw, 653px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2897\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Left: Anthony Peart and Jacob Wilson, Master Distiller at Henley Distillery (Photography to Phoebe Costard)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s12\">Crafted to be enjoyed on the rocks<\/span><span class=\"s12\">,<\/span><span class=\"s12\"> neat<\/span><span class=\"s12\">,<\/span><span class=\"s12\"> paired with a quality ginger ale or added to your <\/span><span class=\"s12\">favourite<\/span><span class=\"s12\"> rum cocktail. Anthony has created a signature <\/span><span class=\"s12\">Fr\u2019um<\/span><span class=\"s12\"> Mai Tai,<\/span> <span class=\"s12\">Fr\u2019um<\/span><span class=\"s12\"> the Darkside,<\/span><span class=\"s12\"> which is available at The Hand &amp; Flowers, using <\/span><span class=\"s12\">Fr\u2019um<\/span><span class=\"s12\">, lime juice, <\/span><span class=\"s12\">Angostura Bitters, <\/span><span class=\"s12\">Orgeat (almond syrup) and a splash of pineapple juice, shaken and served in a rocks glass, garnished with lime and a sprig of fresh mint, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.frumrumco.com\"><span class=\"s9\">Fr\u2019um<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s9\">, is available<\/span><span class=\"s9\">\u00a0throughout the <a href=\"https:\/\/tomkerridge.com\/restaurants\/\">Tom Kerridge Group<\/a> sites as well as select venues including The Oarsman Marlow, The Crown at Bray, The Mutton <\/span><span class=\"s9\">at<\/span> <span class=\"s9\">Hazely <\/span><span class=\"s9\">Heath and Rebellion Brewery also in Marlow. <\/span><\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s12\"><a href=\"https:\/\/instagram.com\/anthonypeart\">Anthony Peart<\/a> comments, \u201cBlending my own rum has been a <\/span><span class=\"s12\">labour<\/span><span class=\"s12\"> of love over the last <\/span><span class=\"s12\">three <\/span><span class=\"s12\">years <\/span><span class=\"s12\">starting with the initial concept being developed in the lockdown of April 2020. I really wanted <\/span><span class=\"s12\">Fr\u2019um<\/span><span class=\"s12\"> to showcase my Caribbean heritage combined with my love for big <\/span><span class=\"s12\">flavour<\/span><span class=\"s12\">s<\/span><span class=\"s12\"> and rum!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s12\">When Anthony was planning to create his unique rum, he turned to British artist known as \u2018Autistic Ian\u2019 (@autistic_ian) to help him create a brand and logo. Ian has high-functioning autism and a debilitating stammer. He was mute as a young child and used to draw pictures of what he needed and pass drawings to his father. Through incredible hurdles Ian still managed to achieve the role of creative director with the UKs advertising industry and his work now hangs in some the best restaurants (and homes) in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s13\"><span class=\"s12\">Anthony ran his brand vision by Ian and how it needed to be instantly captivating in a very busy market. Ian\u2019s imagery is clean, striking, unique and very <\/span><span class=\"s12\">Fro<\/span><span class=\"s12\">, Anthony\u2019s nickname!
