As Sommelier, I will support the Director of Wine and Restaurant Management and assume responsibility for the efficient operation in the following:<\/p>\n
Keep abreast of industry trends and practices and update knowledge and skills to improve the product and service offering.<\/p>\n
Products and services will be constantly assessed and reviewed to remain relevant, innovative and in keeping with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.<\/p>\n
Providing an exceptional guest experience service.<\/p>\n
Effectively carry out service recovery in the event of guest complaints.<\/p>\n
Conduct Wine Seminars for our guests.<\/p>\n
Conduct Wine Tastings\/Dinners for our guests.<\/p>\n
Conduct Wine Training Sessions for Restaurant and Beverage Hosts.<\/p>\n
Properly decant older vintages, with the showmanship and standards required by traditional wine.<\/p>\n
Pair wines with food, recommending those that will complement the different styles of cuisine and the different methods of food preparation.<\/p>\n
Assist in the control of their outlet operational budget, ensuring that all costs are strictly controlled maximizing profitability.<\/p>\n
Inspect condition and cleanliness of menus and wine list, ensure designated amounts are available, and update menus or wine lists as changes occur<\/p>\n
Strictly adhere to LQA standards and guest comments.<\/p>\n
To execute the position of Sommelier, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:<\/p>\n
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 year\u2019s experience in a similar operational role. Hospitality diploma\/degree\u202ffrom a recognized hospitality school is preferred.<\/p>\n
Familiar with Food and Beverage terminology, application, operation, wine service, costs, menu development food and hygiene codes and controlling inventory<\/p>\n
Fluent in English; I understand that additional languages are preferred.<\/p>\n
